John Blaine Kimball Jr., age 70, of Crystal Lake, IL, formerly of Elgin, IL, passed away on January 30, 2022. He was born January 29, 1952 in Melrose Park, IL to his loving parents, Florence R. (née Reiter) and John B. Kimball Sr.

John is a descendent of the Elgin Kimballs, one of Elgin’s founding families. He grew up next to the Pratt Castle along the Fox River, and graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1970. He then worked in collections at First Card, BankAmericard, and Chase Bank for 47 years before retiring in 2020.

John met Cynthia McLean at the Bowlway Lanes in Elgin and they were married for 47 years. He was a loving husband who put his wife above himself, and cared for her until his death.

John enjoyed working crossword puzzles while sipping coffee on the front porch of their Elgin home, and listening to John Williams’ speed jokes on WGN radio. He was a fan of all the Chicago teams, particularly the Blackhawks and Cubs. He and Cynthia loved to go camping and vacation in Florida. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kimball; twin brother, James Kimball; brother, Jay Kimball; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private.
