Jesus Manuel Fargas, age 60, of Elgin, IL, passed away on April 25, 2025. He was born September 9, 1964 in Rio Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico to his loving parents, Marcelino Fargas and Ana Celia Power.

Jesus graduated from the American Academy of Professional Coders with a bachelor's degree. He worked as a claims coder and auditor for health insurance.

Jesus had a strong character. He was very smart, with a knowledge of many things, and he was very wise, giving good advice. He was strong and sometimes hard in his decisions, but was a fair person. He hated lies. He was a father figure to many, even though he himself had no children.

Jesus was also very funny, with a great sense of humor. He had a wonderful laugh, with a unique, loud voice. He loved music, and played the trumpet and saxophone, and he also enjoyed dancing and going to the clubs. He was such a good dancer that he earned the nickname “Boogie.” He liked both eating in fine restaurants and cooking in his own kitchen.

Jesus' favorite colors were turquoise and all shades of blue. He had very good taste, and liked to collect things, including Chicago Bears items, coins, cards, shot glasses, and elephants (but only if their trunk was raised).

Jesus loved his dogs, too, and kissed them often. They were his babies.

Jesus was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by siblings, Ana I. Perez and Luis Fargas; and nieces and nephews, Kristian, Josue, Nellyvette, Richie, Luis, Joshua, Jesus, Jazzine, Jessica, and Jonathan.

Interment will be private.
