James B. Fraser Jr. Obituary
James B. “Jim” Fraser went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 4, 2026. His motto, “Faith Over Fear,” was never more evident than during his battle with cancer. The Lord gave him the strength to face his illness with courage, grace, and without complaint.
Jim was born on July 4, 1951, in Pasadena, California, to James B. Fraser Sr. and June Brown Fraser. He was raised in Geneva, Illinois, and graduated from Geneva High School in 1969. He continued his education at Waubonsee Community College and Aurora College.
Jim was a man of many interests and talents. He loved playing guitar and spent many years leading worship at Grace Evangelical Church. He was always eager to encourage new musicians, often lending guitars to students who needed one.
His hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and curiosity. He enjoyed cooking, snowmobiling, slot car racing, RC boat racing, and, more recently, RC airplanes. He also loved cruises and road trips, and his favorite vacation destination was his Treehouse timeshare at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
Above all else, Jim loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Robin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, whom he met through eHarmony and married on August 12, 2006; his children, Jennifer May, James B. Fraser III, and Jenelle (Jon) Maxwell; his grandchildren, Emma May, Calvin May, Casey May, Kate (Jose)Freyre, Kyle Fraser, Klohe Fraser, and Sarah Maxwell; his sisters, Roberta (Phil) Swanson and Kim (Jason Houghton) Fraser; and his nephews, Keith Swanson and Scott Stephanie Swanson, along with their daughters, Maddy and Zoe.
