Jacqueline Ann Jurek, age 75, of Bartlett, IL, passed away on September 24, 2024. She was born June 19, 1949 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, Donald and Laverne (née Meyer) Stowell. Though born in Chicago, she grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Jackie worked as a registered nurse for 40 years. It was the perfect profession, as she was a caregiver at heart. She would help and care for anyone who needed it, and give the shirt off her back.

Jackie met her husband at a ski club, and they were married for 47 years. Together they had two children. She loved being a mother, and later a grandmother.

Jackie was an avid skier. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, and reading.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brad Jurek; and niece, Michelle DoMoe. She is survived by her husband, Frank “Jerry” Jurek; daughter, Rebecca (Frank) Gummerson; sister, Jeanette Wilbur; grandchildren, Eloise Gummerson, Grant Gummerson, Colin Gummerson, and Zander Ricker; and nieces, Kelly O’Brien and Nicole Van Acker.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Ristorante Villagio, 1242 W. Lake Street, Roselle, IL 60172.

Interment will be private.
