George Campos, age 49, of Elgin, IL, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was born April 16, 1977 in Chicago, IL to Diana Campos.
George will be remembered for the joy he brought into every room and the kindness he carried in his heart. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Michelle DeLeon. The two met in December 2013 in Elgin, and their connection quickly grew into a lasting love. They were married in 2016, beginning a partnership filled with laughter, support, and deep affection.
George had a natural gift for making people laugh. Whether through his spot-on impressions or his quick wit, he had a way of lifting spirits and bringing people together. Beyond his humor, those closest to him knew a different side—one defined by gentleness, compassion, and a genuine care for others. He was always ready to lend a hand or offer comfort to anyone in need.
George found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing poker, listening to music, and dancing. He was also a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, proudly cheering them on and sharing that enthusiasm with those around him.
George’s memory will live on in the laughter he inspired, the love he gave, and the lives he touched with his kindness.
George was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Campos; mom, Gloria Campos; cousin, Daniel Zapata; grandmothers, Dominga Ruiz and Evangelina Gonzalez; and grandfather, Angel Campos Sr. He is survived by his wife, Michelle (DeLeon) Campos; children, Alissa Nunez (Salvador), Abel Campos, and Jesel Campos; dad, Arthur Campos Sr.; siblings, Pedro (Manny) Ruiz (Edda), Rachel Clay (Dwayne), Elizabeth Cruz (Eric), Hillary Romero (Miguel), Carol Greene (Irving), and Art Campos Jr.; three grandsons; and a large and loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
