Obituary

Frank George Malone, age 95, of Pingree Grove, IL, passed away on November 16, 2022.  He was born in Oak Park, IL to his loving parents, Anthony and Marion (née Sorvillo) Malone.

Frank enlisted with the United States Navy in 1944, serving during World War II before being honorably discharged in 1946.  He earned the American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon.  He was called back into military service in 1951 during the Korean War, again serving honorably before being discharged in 1952.  He earned the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Ribbon, and China Service Medal.

Frank attended Bradley University where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering, then attended the Illinois Institute of Technology for his Masters in Business Administration.  He worked at Duo-Fast before retiring in 1991.

Frank and his first wife, Donna had five children.  They were married for 36 years before her passing in 1990.

He later met his second wife, Barbara (also widowed), on a blind date through a mutual friend.  They were married for 31 years.

Frank was a wonderful and caring family man.  He enjoyed the outdoors, and liked to shoot, hunt, and fish, and building fly fishing rods.  He also enjoyed watching football, especially if either of his favorite teams, the Bears and Notre Dame, were playing.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Donna Marie (née Klein) Malone; and oldest son, Michael Malone.  He is survived by his second wife of 31 years, Barbara (née Centella) Milani-Malone; children, Mary (Norman) Lisiewski, Matthew (Lourdes) Malone, Melvin (Laurie) Malone, Martin (Debbra) Malone; stepchildren, Susan (Larry) Klinefelter, James (Kathleen) Milani, Joseph (Cynthia) Milani, and Thomas Milani; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
