Faith Hope Garcia, age 69, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 26, 2026. She was born September 3, 1956 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, Walter Skeate and Marion McGuire.

Faith was a dedicated, humble, loving, and resilient woman who touched many lives in her 69 years. She was a beacon of strength and a pillar of support for all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Faith was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and she was often found cheering her teams on with an infectious enthusiasm. Her love for sports was not limited to professional teams; she was a dedicated "Sports Mom" who relished in watching her sons play baseball and football. She enjoyed bowling in her twenties/thirties, and in her later years, she loved playing card games with her Grandchildren, creating memories that they will cherish forever. A small business owner, Faith was a respected figure in the hospitality/gaming industry. She was known for her dedication and hard work, which contributed significantly to her success.

Faith is survived by her sons, Brian (Shakwana) Skeate, Ruben Garcia, and Jesse (Breeana) Garcia; and her siblings, Kenny (Yolanda) Skeate, Deborah Skeate, and Jacqueline Luna. She was a loving Grandmother to Daneia, DeGianna, Demi, Deylin, Xzaira, Annabelle, Elijah, Jayden, and Mireille. Faith was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Skeate and Marion McGuire; her siblings, Lorelei Mendiola, Walter Skeate, and Edward Skeate; and her ex-husband, Cosme Garcia.

Above all, Faith was a woman who valued her family, privacy, and independence. She lovingly helped raise her stepchildren, Gilbert, Oscar, Joseph, Cosme Jr, Ruthy, and Angela Garcia, and her dear friend Iris Mendez's family, whom she embraced as her own. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. As we remember Faith, let us draw comfort from the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded."

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with funeral service at 7:00pm, Friday, July 10, 2026, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Interment will be private.
