Evelyn Bernice Lamprecht, age 98, of Lake in the Hills, IL, passed away on March 26, 2025. She was born September 17, 1926 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents, Henry and Bernice (née Wagner) Steinmann.
Evelyn attended St. John’s Lutheran School, and graduated from Elgin High School. She became a registered nurse, working at Sherman Hospital for many years. She married Richard W. Lamprecht on August 2, 1947. They were together for almost 71 years before his passing in May, 2018.
Evelyn was an avid reader, and also enjoyed working in her garden. She also served with the Ladies Aid at St. John’s in Elgin, and as a scout leader and a school nurse.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lamprecht; brother, Herbert Steinmann; and daughter, Barbara Lucas. She is survived by her children, Robert Lamprecht, Nancy Cooke, and Wendy (John) Parsons; sister, Donna Delihant; grandchildren, Rick (Claudia) McCombs, Elaine Moore, Melanie (Norman) Pritchard, Leslie Schumacher, Sabrina (Brandon) Johnson, Stephanie (Tiffany) Dumas, and Alexander Cooke; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, Teri (Bob) Gatanis and Tracey (Charles) Hobbs.
Visitation will be 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am, Friday, April 4, 2025, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church of Gilberts, 18N377 Galligan Road, Dundee, IL 60118. Pastor Bruce Milash will be officiating.
Interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, 30W730 U.S. Hwy. 20, Elgin, IL 60120.
