Evangeline “Van” Fanslow, age 93, of Schaumburg, IL, passed away on January 24, 2022. She was born July 2, 1928 in Melrose Park, IL to her loving parents, Nicholas and Mary (née Urgo) Laraia.
Van married William G. (“Bill”) Fanslow on October 29, 1949, and they were married for 41 years. She worked as a nurses aid at Northwest Community Hospital.
Van shared her loving, generous personality with all the lives she touched. She would often prepare your favorite dessert or have a gift for you when visiting. Van enjoyed spending time with family and extended family; aunts, uncles and many cousins with many fond memories of card games and family picnics. She had a great love for animals, especially her chow, Lady, and always asking about the grand dogs. It was rare for Van to ask for help, but yet loving and caring for others, her uplifting personality will be greatly missed by all.
Van was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William G. Fanslow; daughter, Linda Martin; and siblings, Antoinette Diamond, Rosemary Fox, and Joe Laraia. She is survived by her son, William M. (Annie) Fanslow; daughter, Kathy (Randy) Seibert; grandchildren, Andrea (Ryan) Anderson, Christopher Bach, Madi (Chris) Zimmerman, Lizzie Seibert, and Jamie Seibert; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Abigail, Janie, Mason, and Brianna; sister-in-law, June Fanslow; daughter-in-law, Linda Fanslow; and special nieces and nephew, Judy Fanslow, Jodie Scaminaci, Jane Fanslow, Toni Moran, and Steven Fox.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in the Main Conference Room at Friendship Village, 350 W. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, IL 60194.
Final arrangements entrusted to Symonds-Madison Funeral Home. For more information, call 847-741-1128 or visit www.symondsmadison.com.
