Donald A. Sternberg, age 86, of Lake in the Hills, IL, passed away on January 15, 2022. He was born September 22, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI to his loving parents, Walter and Isabelle (née Bast) Sternberg.

Donald worked as a transmission mechanic. He and his wife, Shirley, were married for 40 years before her passing in 2011, and he loved her more than anything.

Donald’s attitude was always “good everyday, all the time!” He enjoyed baseball, and loved the Cubs. He also liked Bingo and The Rifleman.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sternberg. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Newsome; son, James Newsome; and grandchildren, Rhiannon Newsome, Julian Newsome, and Keylee Newsome.

Visitation will be 2:00 until funeral service at 4:00pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Pr. Larry Tieman will be officiating.
