Christian Chavez

Christian Chavez, age 27, of Elgin, IL, passed away on July 24, 2022.  He was born October 31, 1994 in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Manuel Chavez and Leticia Garcia.

Christian met his wife, Veronica, in high school and they began dating in 2011.  They were married for six years.

Christian loved the railroad, and worked as a railroad contractor for Harbour Contractors.

Christian was a morning person and was always ready to do something.  He would clap his hands and say, "Let's go!"  He had a wonderful sense of humor, and always had a smile on his face.  He enjoyed making everyone laugh.

Christian loved spending time with his wife and son.  He also loved going out for a cruise at night while enjoying a blunt.

His wife will always remember the joy she felt when he would pick her up in his dad's truck.  A funny memory she has is of them at the park on a snowy day when he tried to back up and backed into a tree.

Christian is survived by his wife, Veronica Gonzalez; son, Sebastian Chavez; parents, Manuel and Leticia Chavez; and brother, Edgar Chavez.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday, July 29, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.

Funeral mass will be 10:00am, Saturday, July 30, 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena, 845 W. Main Street, West Dundee, IL 60118. Fr. Luis Guanine will be officiating.

Interment to follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens, 14N689 Route 31, West Dundee, IL 60118.
