Carol L. Kinsey, age 88, of Elgin, IL, passed away on January 13, 2022. She was born December 25, 1933 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents, Harry and Alma (née Reuter) Wiese.

Carol attended Elgin Community College for two years. She then worked as a secretary for Lloyd Kinsey, whom she married on July 13, 1973. He was the love of her life, and she was his. When she and Lloyd retired, they moved to Tennessee. They did everything together until his death in 1996. After his death, she moved back to Elgin to be with her daughter, Lori. They did everything together, and she and Lori were the best of friends.

Carol was the kindest person. She was sometimes stubborn, but in a cute way. A real firecracker! She also loved animals, and worked at the Anderson Animal Shelter.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Kinsey (died 1996); and grandson, Samuel Acevedo (died May 17, 1999). She is survived by her daughter, Lori Acevedo; grandchildren, Natacha (Dave) Douglas and Rey (Sherise) Acevedo; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.

Visitation will be 3:00pm until funeral service at 4:00pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Pr. Jeorge Holmes will be officiating.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.
