Ángel Padro, de 100 años, de Elgin, Illinois, falleció el 1 de junio de 2025. Nació el 2 de agosto de 1924 en Manatí, Puerto Rico, hijo de sus queridos padres, Juan Padro y Julia Pagán.

Ángel conoció a su esposa, Lydia, a través de un amigo en común. Se intercambiaron cartas y luego se casaron en Puerto Rico. Estuvieron casados ​​67 años antes del fallecimiento de ella en diciembre de 2024. Juntos criaron tres hijos.

Ángel era muy trabajador. Era un hombre maravilloso; un buen padre y un buen proveedor, que se aseguraba de que su familia tuviera comida y techo. Era un gran narrador. Le gustaba hablar de todos los lugares donde trabajó y viajó. Disfrutaba jugando a las cartas y al dominó. Su pasatiempo favorito era pescar con su familia y amigos.

Ángel fue precedido en la muerte por su esposa, Lydia Iris Padro. Le sobreviven sus hijos, Norma Contreras y Louis Padro; su hijastro, Félix Ramos; nietos, Diana Ferreris y Raúl Ferreris; sobrina, Gloria Rodríguez; y sobrino, Larry Burnside.

El velatorio se realizará a las 10:00 a. m. hasta la 1:00 p. m. del viernes 6 de junio de 2025 en la Funeraria Symonds-Madison, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. El Padre Robert Camacho oficiará el funeral.

El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio de Arlington, 401 E. Lake Street, Elmhurst, IL 60126.

Angel Padro, age 100, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 1, 2025. He was born August 2, 1924 in Manati, PR to his loving parents, Juan Padro and Julia Pagan.

Angel met his wife, Lydia, through a mutual friend. They sent letters back and forth to each other and then got married in Puerto Rico. They were married 67 years before her passing in December, 2024. Together they raised three children.

Angel was very hardworking. He was a wonderful man; a good father and good provider, making sure his family had food and shelter. He was a great storyteller. He liked to talk about all the places he worked and traveled. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. His favorite pastime was fishing with his family and friends.

Angel was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Iris Padro. He is survived by his children, Norma Contreras and Louis Padro; stepson, Felix Ramos; grandchildren, Diana Ferreris and Raul Ferreris; niece, Gloria Rodriguez; and nephew, Larry Burnside.

Visitation will be 10:00am until funeral service at 1:00pm, Friday, June 6, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Fr. Robert Camacho will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Arlington Cemetery, 401 E. Lake Street, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
