Willie B. Patton, age 68, of Elgin, passed away on March 2 , 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital. He was born December 27, 1947 in Earl, Arkansas to the loving parents of Joe Burton and Mae Lee Patton-Johnson.

Willie lived in Arkansas for his young life, before moving to Elgin with his brothers and sisters.

Willie was employed for 21 years at WR Meadows in Elgin, IL, which later moved to Hampshire, IL. On January 18, 1991, Willie was united in holy matrimony to Debra A. Duncan, also of Elgin, IL.

In his free time, Willie loved out-door cooking – he was the King of Barbeque. He took a liking to gardening as well. Willie was a man of many words, always outspoken.

In 2003, Willie and Debra joined the Elgin Family Worship Center, and Willie was baptized in Jesus’ name by Bishop (Pastor) Robert E. Atlas, his brother-in-law. Willie served as a dedicated member up until his passing, and he will be greatly missed.

Willie was preceded in death by his son, Willie Patton, Jr.; daughter Sharon Patton; sisters Christine and Teresa Johnson; brothers George Gordon and Melvin Johnson; and one great-grandson, Sekai Collier.

Willie is survived by his loving wife, Debra A. Patton, of Elgin, IL; sons Jimmy Patton and Terry Patton; stepson Anthony Simmon of Elgin, stepdaughters Andrea V. Duncan and Celia D. Duncan, of Bartlett, IL; brothers Robert (Barbara) Johnson, of Elgin, Henry (Tina) Johnson, of Elgin, Charles (Albert) Johnson, Leon (Barbara) Johnson, of Missouri, and Johnny Johnson, of Elgin; mother-in-law Martha J. Duncan; and a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, friends and family.

Visitation will be Friday, March 4, from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11:00a.m. at Elgin Family Worship Center, 1323 Summit St, Elgin, IL 60120, Rev.
