Teodoro Favis, age 73, of Elgin, passed away April 17, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. He was born October 12, 1943 in the Philippines to his loving parents, Isidro and Catalina (nee Salcedo) Favis.
Teodoro earned his degree in engineering in the Philippines. He emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1972, later living in Toronto, Canada before moving to the United States in 1986. He married Rizalina “Sally” and together they raised four children.
Teodoro was knowledgeable about many things and would be the ideal teammate for a trivia competition. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking around with friends and family. He had a servant’s heart and loved helping others. In his free time, he enjoyed playing chess.
Teodoro was preceded in death by his second wife, Maria “Benjie” Favis.
Teodoro is survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Rizalina “Sally” Favis; children Jeffrey (Vicky) Favis, Rachel Morales, Jerome (Ruby) Favis, and John Favis; grandchildren Gabby Favis, Giane-Carle Favis, Jessica Morales, Jasmine Morales, and Jacon Morales; siblings Isidro “Sid” (Emie) Favis, Roger (Annie) Favis, Virginia (Gerry) Calasahan, Tyrone (Minda) Favis, Ruby (Louis) Kao, and Rafael (Susan) Favis; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation will be 5:00PM – 9:00PM with funeral service at 7:30PM, Rev. Robert Camacho officiating, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St, Elgin, IL 60120. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PADS of Elgin.
