Robert “Bob” Walter Roth, of Elgin, passed away on February 27, 2017, at The Vines in Elgin, IL. Bob was born February 25, 1920 in Elgin to his parents, Walter and Natalie (nee Farney) Roth.
Bob graduated from Elgin High School, class of 1938. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy, Class of 1942. Bob served in the United States Army, 13th General Hospital in the Pacific, during World War II. Bob married Deena (Berg) Lundine in 1947, and they shared 64 loving years together until her passing in 2011. They especially enjoyed their vacations to Hawaii. Bob owned the Roth Pharmacies in Elgin for many years before semi-retiring. He was a member of American Legion Post 57 in Elgin.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife Deena; and his brother, Richard.
Bob is survived by his step-son, Stanley (Arlene) Lundine; granddaughters, Lisa Duroney and Christine Lundine.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St, Elgin, IL 60120. Funeral service will be at 11:00a.m., Rev. Tim Perry officiating.
