Robert Levine, age 89, of Elgin, passed away July 2, 2020 at JourneyCare CareCenter in Barrington, IL. Robert was born August 6, 1930 to his loving parents, Arthur and Molly Levine.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War, 1953 to 1955 with the 45th Finance Disbursing Section in Salzburg, Austria. He earned the rank of Corporal and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
Robert was a General Contractor, building residential and commercial properties.
In his free time, Robert was an avid golfer, enjoyed jazz music and attended jazz festivals, and traveling.
Loved ones will remember Robert’s witty sense of humor, kind and generous heart, and that he was a devoted uncle and dear friend.
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Renee Levine.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Levine; brother Gerald (Laura Allison) Levine; nieces and nephews who he loved as his own, Jon, Sarah, and Kate Fox, Aaron Levine and Adam Levine; and great-nieces and nephews Cole, Avery, Emma, Harper, Brayden, Zoe and Tyler.
Graveside Service will be held 10:00a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin IL 60120, Rabbi Margaret Frisch officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
