Rickard F. “Poncho” Lesiak, age 73, of Chicago, IL, passed away on December 21, 2021. He was born August 1, 1948 in Chicago, IL to his loving parents, Stanley and Stella (née Smalec) Lesiak.

Rick attend Rezin Orr High School. He maintained many lifelong friendships from his high school years.

Rick worked with his brother, Ronald, and brother-in-law, Chester Filip, as a dockhand. After retiring from that, he started his own DJ business as Rikki Lee, Musical Menazerie, which was very successful.

Throughout his life, Rick was quite the athlete. He was an avid hockey, basketball, and baseball player. He was also a big fan of the Chicago teams, the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and White Sox.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Patsy Lesiak, Randall Lesiak, Rance Lesiak, and Ronald (Roberta) Lesiak. He is survived by his son, Todd Lesiak; sister, Reneé Filip; brother, Reed (Patricia) Lesiak; and nieces and nephews, Rance, Ronald, Robin, Richard, Holly, and Romy; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00pm until funeral service at 7:00pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Fr. Robert Camacho will be officiating.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.

Final interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Rick’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  1. Remembering all the wonderful times we all shared. Although we all moved our separate ways when talking or sharing stories you would be brought up in conversation. You being Erins godfather was very special to us. You will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.
