Michael W. Cannon, age 60, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 10, 2021. He was born October 31, 1960 in Peoria, IL and adopted by his loving parents, Percy Cannon and Ruby Blenkle (née Krell).

Michael graduated from Larkin High School, Class of 1978. He worked in construction as a glazier until retirement.

He met the love of his life, Dorothy, at work. It started as a friendship, and grew into so much more. A love of a lifetime! They were together for 14 years.

Michael was an avid outdoorsman, handyman, and caregiver. He enjoyed boating, cooking, and being with his children and grandchildren. Some of his favorite memories were of fishing with his son, and taking him on his first motorcycle ride; and holding his grandson for the first time. He even lovingly made a high chair for his grandson.

Michael was a master of all trades. He always said that everything was fixable as long as you have the right tools for the job. He was a wonderful father that had a strong love for both family and friends. He was the family rock and compass.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Percy Cannon. He is survived by his life partner, Dorothy Izewski; children, Raymond Cannon and Allison Hogan; mother, Ruby Blenkle; grandchildren, William Cannon and Ezra Hogan; and best friend, Gary Eiklor.
