Mario Fuentes Matias, age 48, of Carpentersville, passed away May 19, 2020 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, IL. Mario was born in Mexico April 16, 1972 to his loving parents, Jose Fuentes Rojas and Evira Matias Manuel.
Mario shared 26 years of marriage with his loving wife, Reyna, and together they raised four daughters. Mario cherished time with this family, especially his three granddaughters. He was known for making everyone laugh and always having a good time.
Mario was a hard-working man, who always strove to give his best to his family. He always prioritized his family, even before his own needs. He worked so hard so his daughters would be able to have a bright future and accomplish their
Mario attended all his girls’ swim meets, their ceremonies, and supported everything and anything we wanted to do. He saw three of his daughters graduate and was proud of the youngest, whose graduation with honors he will miss. He took pride in his daughters, in who’ve they’ve become and what they’ve accomplished.
Mario was a great source of encouragement. He was someone who many looked up, a role model to many. He showed others how to treat their wife’s, how to make sacrifices for those he loved. He was such a positive influence for anyone who was in his life. He always knew what to do, always said the right words and always gave 110%
Loved ones will remember Mario as one of the funniest, most respectful and most generous person. He always knew how to make people smile, even during the toughest of times. There’s no doubt that he was the most loving person. He was so accepting, so understanding and so supportive. He was someone you’d want around for a lifetime.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Elvira and Jose.
Mario is survived by his loving wife, Reyna Esquivel Valdez; daughters Becky, Miriam, Denisse and Yamilin Fuentes; siblings Elvira, Josefina, Irma, Juana, Nancy and Pepe; aunts Adela and Eloisa, grandchildren Adalia, Jireh, and Nia; cousin Luis; and nieces and nephews Victoria, Danny, Genesis and Samara.
Visitation for immediate family will be 10a.m until time of funeral service at 12:00p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin IL 60120, Rev. Ivette Garcia officiating.
To join the visitation virtually, loved ones can access the visitation and service via Zoom beginning at 10:00a.m. (Zoom Meeting ID: 926 2350 1563 Password: 665474).
Loved ones can also participate in the visitation remotely by sending condolences and memories to be displayed in the chapel through the Symonds-Madison Caring Hearts Program by May 26, 2020.
Interment will follow at 11:00a.m. at Dundee Township Cemetery – East, East Dundee.
