Linda T. Wierdak, age 71, of Winterhaven, FL, passed away on February 3, 2021. She was born July 7, 1949 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, William and Helen Krusiec (née Nawracaj).
Linda graduated from Nazareth Academy High School in LaGrange Park, IL, Class of 1967. She then attended Triton College where she earned a degree in Arts.
Linda worked as a Graphic Artist at both Levitz Furniture and the Metro Cash & Carry. She also served as an Administrative Assistant at the Woodfield Group, Silverstream Software, Novell, and finally United Airlines until she retired in 2017.
Linda met her husband, Tom, at a weekly Sunday night dance. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 3, 2020. Tom’s favorite memories of Linda include the time she shared the news that she was pregnant with her daughter, Rebeca, and four years later with daughter, Erin, despite doctors advising that she would not be able to carry a baby to full term.
Linda loved to travel around the world. A highlight was watching an October, 2019 Chicago Bears game while in London. She especially enjoyed her yearly visits to Disney World with her husband and daughters, and couldn’t wait to hit the slots during the annual Vegas trips. In fact, one night she was having so much fun at the slots, Tom had to literally pull her away to attend a show.
Linda enjoyed volunteering at the Bok Tower Gardens. She also loved watching her Bravo shows daily, then calling her daughters to rehash every episode.
Loved ones will remember Linda as caring and loyal, as well as hard working with an acute attention to detail. She loved to entertain family and friends, and she extended kindness to all she knew. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader, especially at her daughters’ volleyball games and tournaments.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Krusiec; and brother, Carl Krusiec. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Wierdak; daughters, Rebeca A. (Ian H.) Morgan, and Erin S. (Adil Chennoufi) Wierdak; grandchildren, Calum Morgan and Bryar Morgan; and brother, Fred Krusiec.
