Lillian D. Banks, age 66, of Elgin, IL, passed away on August 20, 2021. She was born August 12, 1955 in Newton, MS to her loving parents, Leonard and Mary Alice Robinson (née Walker).
Lillian was married to her beloved husband, Robert, for 37 years before he passed in February, 2017. Together they raised four children.
Lillian worked as a certified nursing assistant for many years until she retired in 2008. She was a hard worker with a huge sense of humor. In her spare time, she loved watching movies; some of her favorites were the Rocky Balboa movies and the Terminator series. She especially loved her family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Lee Banks; daughter, Ashley Banks; and brother Leonard (Bobo) Robinson, Jr. She is survived by her children, Bobbie D. Banks, Sherman Kennedy, and Antonio “Tony” L. Robinson; sisters, Diane Evans, Dale Banks, and Marilyn Williams; grandchildren, Antonio Robinson, Jr., Sayara Kennedy, Sherman Kennedy, Jr., Devin Kennedy, Kyah Banks, Khylin Robinson, Brooklynn Kennedy, Janiyah Banks, and Elijah Banks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00pm until funeral service at 4:00pm, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Pastor Mark Spates Smith will be officiating.
