Karen Percle, age 76, of Elgin, passed away June 29, 2020 at JourneyCare Care Center in Barrington, IL. Karen was born in Elgin on November 1, 1943 to her loving parents, Lawrence and Gladys Andrews (Geldmacher).
Karen earned her master’s degree in social service and worked as a Social Services Director in several area skilled nursing facilities.
Karen lived her life for her children and her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She loved to sit on her back patio, watching flowers bloom and enjoying the butterflies and hummingbirds who came to visit, always with her dog, Autumn, by her side.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Gladys Andrews; her son Anthony, and her grandson, Jacob.
Karen is survived by her children, August Joseph (Heather) Percle, Andrew James (Jennifer) Percle, and Kelly Lynn Percle; sister Carol Davis and family; and grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, Aiden, Tyler, and Blake.
Visitation will be 5:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. with Funeral Service at 7:00p.m. Tuesday July 7, 2020 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin IL 60120, Rev. Michael Murschel officiating. Visitation will continue 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. Wednesday July 8, 2020 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, with prayer at 11:00a.m. and interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd, Elgin IL 60120.
Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time. Facemasks are required to enter the facility, and capacity restrictions of 50 people are in place.
