Karen Michelle Hart, age 39, of Elgin, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 4, 2015 as a result of a illness. She was home with family as she left our world to be with the Lord. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 20, 1976 to her loving parents, Edward C. and Carolyn Hart.
Karen graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in 1994 and continued her education at Elgin Community College, graduating with a Vocational Specialist certificate in Practical Nursing and her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree. Karen loved helping others, so she pursued a career as a traveling nurse who worked and assisted patients in their own homes. In her free time, Karen enjoyed vacationing and a good card game with family and friends. Karen enjoyed time with her family and many friends. One thing for certain, Karen was always prepared for any battle that came her way. Even in the face of personal challenges, she always kept on smiling and enjoying life to the fullest. The Lord finally said, “KK, it’s time to come home.”
Karen is survived by her children; Kedric M. Hart, Mykia R. Whitehead, Derrick C. Whitehead, Jr. and Zephaniah “Zephy” S.S. Whitehead, her parents, Edward C. and Carolyn Hart, her siblings, Edward C. Hart, Jr., Dorothea (Herbert) Wilson, Michael (Ana) Hart, and Cannon (Emmanuel) Gibson, along with seven nieces, three nephews, many aunts, uncles and a host of cousins and friends.
Karen was proceeded in death by her grandmother, Ethel May Hart, and cousin, Aaron Baldwin
Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:30 am with services to follow at 10:30 am at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120, followed with entombment at Oakwoods Cemetery & Mausoleum, 1035 E 67th St, Chicago, IL 60637.
