James Carl Rudolph, age 84, of Elgin, IL, passed away on April 12, 2021. He was born August 22, 1937 in Cleveland, OH to his loving parents, Antonio and Rose Rudolph (née Kravec).
James graduated from Coral Gables High School in Coral Gables, FL. He joined the United States Marine Corp. and served for two years before being honorably discharged. He then worked as an aircraft mechanic for United Airlines for 40 years until he retired in 1994. It was at United Airlines that James met his wife, Gail, and they were married for 38 years.
James was a hard worker with a wonderful sense of humor. He was always joking around, even almost to the end. He loved golf, baseball, bowling, disco dancing, handball, and traveling the world. Loved ones will remember his kindness to everyone he met.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Ed; and sisters, Carol and Marilyn. He is survived by his wife, Gail; stepson, Justen William (Rory) Muchow; daughter, Sher (Hugo) Rocha; and son, James (Shelly) Rudolph; sister, Rosemary (Paul) Weston; grandchildren, Carla Rocha, Alexis Rocha, James Rudolph, Stephanie (Toni Sr.) Mitchell, and Christina (Frank) Loni; step-grandchildren, David Muchow and Olivia Muchow; and great-grandchildren, Toni Mitchell Jr., Madylynn Mitchell, and Maria Michele Loni.
A memorial with full military honors will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 819 Forest Avenue, Elgin, IL 60120.
Interment will be private.
