Eddie B. Sanders, 72, of Carpentersville, passed away April 17, 2019 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL.  Eddie was born October 10, 1946 in Chicago, IL, to his loving parents Deato and Lacey Sanders (nee Little).

Eddie graduated from Crane Tech High School in Chicago and attended DeVry Tech College.
He served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic in Europe during the Vietnam War, 1966-1968, earning a Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Eddie worked as a teacher in the Minneapolis Public Schools.
In his free time, Eddie enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and pitty pat.
Eddie had many memorable sayings, including: “You beta recognize! What’s my name?”, “It is so deep you don’t understand,” “It is what it is,” “You so smart, you stupid!” and “Stupid is as stupid does!”
Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Sanders; daughter Brenda Sanders; niece Stephanie Sanders; and best friend, Eddie Washington, Sr.
Eddie is survived by his long-time love, Otha Hayes; children Caroline (Caldwell) Johnson, Ramona (Ray) Barnes, Danyale Sanders, Gabriella (Curtis) Ward, Eddie Hayes, Anquenette Waltower, Tatamisha Waltower, Tyrrie Larry, and Latoya White; first granddaughter Kennisha (Corey) Edmonds; loving sister, Denise Jefferson; favorite brothers-in-law, Booker T. “Jeff”, Wade “Bo”, and Sheldon “Shel”; sisters-in-law Jo Ella Collins, Deloise Jordan, Gloria (Keith) Beal, Charlotte (Trevaugn) Steele; nephews, Rion and Theon; niece Krystal; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11:00a.m. until time of service at  to 1:00p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Faithwalk Harvest Center, 400 Maple Ave., Carpentersville, IL 60110, Rev. Dexter K. Ball officiating.  Interment with military honors will be Monday, May 6, 2019 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.
