Dusan R. Micic, 84, of Lake in the Hills, passed away September 20, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. He was born April 16, 1933 in Serbia to his loving parents, Radovan an Stevanija Micic (nee Radovanovic).
Dusan was a soldier in Partisan Army, The National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia. He immigrated to the United States from Serbia in 1970.
Dusan was a top welder known for his skills and had a tremendous work ethic. He worked at Elgin Casket Company and Toastmaster Middleby Corporation.
Loved ones will remember Dusan for his great sense of humor and straight talk. He had strong political views, and if he didn’t agree with you, you would hear about it. In his free time, Dusan enjoyed gardening and reading.
Dusan was preceded in death by his brother, Milorad “Miko” Micic.
Dusan is survived by his children, Nikola (Donna) Puljarevic, Nada (Zoran) Calovic; brother Mitar Micic; granddaughter Tina (Bob) Moszkiewicz; great-grandchildren Anthony, Nikola, Angelina and Luciano; and nephews Radisha, Rajko, and many others.
Thursday, September 28, 2017 visitation will be 5:00-9:00PM at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin IL 60120.
Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:00AM Funeral Mass wil be held at New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 35240 W. Grant Ave., Third Lake, IL 60046. Interment to follow at Most Holy Mother of God Cemetery.
