Don Wesley Curtis Richardson, age 83, of Addison, passed away September 1, 2020 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Don was born September 6, 1936 in Curve, TN to his loving parents, Howard George and Allie Jewel Richardson (nee White).
Don worked in the concrete industry for much of his life. As the foreman, he encouraged his team by saying “ Come on boys, hurry up, this concrete won’t wait for ya!” He was a member of Local 1889 Carpenter’s Hall for 23 years, and the Laborer’s Union Local 17 for 15 years.
Don married Barbara Rose Richardson after meeting at a diner. It was love at first sight, and they married and raised three children. The two shared forty years of marriage until her passing in 1997.
Don met his second wife, Victoria through a neighbor, and they hit it off right away. Together they shared 18 years of marriage.
Loved ones will remember Don as a hard worker, confident and honest. He was kind and loving, and would do anything he could to help you when you needed it.
Don enjoyed sports and horseracing. He owned many horses that raced at Maywood. He was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and he would call his brother and grandson before and after every game to discuss the details. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.
He also made great memories raccoon hunting with his brothers back home in Tennessee.
Don was a family man, and he enjoyed visiting with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
