Darryl Gassion was born to the late Mr. J.C. Butcher and Ms. Adeline Gassion on January 4, 1975 in Chicago, IL, sharing life with his twin brother, Dennis Gassion. God dispatched an angel from Heaven and called Darryl home to rest on September 21, 2017.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at First Church of Deliverance.

He received his formal education at Coleman Elementary School and CVS High School. He worked for Rana Meal Solutions as a Machine Operator for more than six years. He enjoyed getting up for work each day, and always arrived on time, never late.

Darryl was preceded in death by both parents, Mr. J.C. Butcher and Ms. Adeline Gassion.

He leaves to cherish his special memories four sons, Darryl Gassion, Darrione Gassion, Darrell Gassion, and Daran Gassion; eight sisters, Bertha Shaw, Bobbi (James) Butcher, Eva (Randy Leavell Sr.) Leavell, Karen Gassion, Sharon Gassion, Katina (Marc Mosley) Gassion-Mosley, Renarda Butcher, and Tina Jackson; four brothers, James Butcher, Will Ivy Butcher, Eric O. (Deidra) Gassion Sr., and his one and only other half, twin brother Dennis Gassion; grandson Darrius Gassion; two aunties, Maggie McKinney and Gennie (James) Bradford; five uncles, William (Bertha) Gassion, Stanley Gassion, Joe Gassion, John Gassion, and George (Pam) Gassion; a host of special family and friends who were blessed to have loved him dearly.

Visitation will be 5:00PM to 9:00PM with service at 7:00PM Saturday October 7, 2017 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin, Rev. Walter Blalark officiating.  Interment will be private.
