Darren Glenn Perry, age 50, of Elgin, a loving husband, father son, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away at home on August 20, 2017. He was born August 8, 1967 in Parkin, Arkansas, to his loving parents, Charles and Odie Perry (nee Hinton).
Darren graduated from Elgin High School. He later worked as a custodian at Huff School in Elgin. He married the love of his life, Lisa, in Hawaii in 2008.

In his free time, Darren loved watching the Cubs and Packers, listening to Joe Rogan podcasts, traveling with Lisa, attending concerts in Elgin and Ravinia, spending time with family and friends, and eating popcorn. He also treasured coaching Elgin children in Little League Baseball.

Darren was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Geneva Hinton.

Darren is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Hopkins Perry; children Garett Perry, Latoya Perry, Brianna (Marqwet) Leavy, and Javier Nunez; his parents Charles and Odie Perry, sisters Sonia and Beverly Perry; best friend John (Anita) Martinez, his son’s mother Millicent Perry, his grandchildren, Amari, Xavier, London, Marqwet Jr., Malik, Isaiah, and William; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00a.m. until time of service at 12:00p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Second Baptist Church, 1280 Summit St, Elgin, IL 60120, Pastor Greg Huguley officiating. Interment will be private at Bluff City Cemetery.
