Daniel Richard Kolder, age 35, of Lake in the Hills, IL, passed away on January 16, 2022. He was born August 11, 1986 in Des Plaines, IL to his loving parents, Charles and Barbara (née Sears) Kolder.
Danny earned his Associates Degree at ETI School of Skilled Trades, and worked as an HVAC airman for a total of eight years in the field.
Danny became friends with Brittany Baney in high school, and they started dating after graduation. They were married for nine years and together had one son.
Danny enjoyed playing video games, watching his niece and nephew play sports, and being a father to Zachary. He had a very laid back attitude, and was very witty, always having a great comeback.
Family and friends have many wonderful memories of Danny. He and his friend Shawn often bickered, and Shawn would call him out, saying “Danny used to dance for change.” Danny would just smile and say, “Yes, I did!”
His friend Scott was honored when Danny showed him a picture of the engagement ring he bought for Brittany. Scott says Danny was the happiest he had ever seen him up to that point.
Brittany has fond memories with Danny of late nights at the bars near NIU, the apartment he shared, and the walks home. She remembers that when Danny bought Brittany her first Coach purse, he was so proud that he was able to get her something so nice.
Danny was always there for his family and friends, and he will be sorely missed.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Kolder, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Brittany Kolder; son, Zachary Kolder; mother, Barbara Kolder; brother, Charles (Stacey) Kolder, Jr.; godmother, Gael Mennecke; niece, Natalie Kolder; and nephew, Nathan Kolder.
