Daniel Ray Davis, age 61, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, left this earth peacefully on July 5, 2015, after spending his favorite holiday with all five of his beloved children. Dan was born on August 6, 1953 in Michigan City, Indiana, to parents Wilbert and Eleanor Davis.
He was the fourth of six children and treasured his close relationship with his youngest brother Billy. As a young child, Dan relocated to Brown Deer, Wisconsin, with his family. There he completed his education and made many lifelong friends. In his 20’s, he started Preferred Finishing, a furniture repair business that allowed him to travel the region. He was very talented at his craft, and was known for his incredible ability to connect with people. Although Dan was passionate about his career, his loving family brought him unmatched joy.
Dan was a true character; he possessed a one-of-a-kind personality with a heart of gold. He always pushed it to the limit in the name of fun. He enjoyed fishing, lighting off fireworks, general shenanigans with his grandsons and making everyone around him laugh. A truly giving man, Dan taught everyone around him how to love.
Dan was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Billy.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Nicole (Ryan) Pisani, Bethany (Michael Pendergast), Tyler (Stephanie Waters), Skye, and Devon Davis; grandchildren, Leo Pisani, Maxwell, and Gaia Davis. Dan is further survived by his nephew Gregory (Karen) Davis, and other extended family. He also leaves behind the loves of his life: Katherine (Lau) Davis, Carrie Branovan, Andrea Vlasis, Teri Kaczmarek and Jane Feltes, as well as his lifelong “brothers,” Guy Trgo and David DiFrances, along with a host of many friends.
Per Dan’s wishes, in lieu of a funeral service, his loved ones will hold a Celebration of Life on September 13, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Deer Park Boathouse, 7835 N. Green Bay Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53209. For more information, contact the family at email@example.com.
Dan’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the entire nursing staff in Critical Care at Sherman Advocate Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. Their loving care for Dan and his entire family is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
