Dale Sowers, age 58, of Elgin, passed away June 8, 2020 at Northwestern Kiswaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. Dale was born December 9, 1961 in Cairo, IL to his loving parents, Jesse Sowers Sr. and Pearline (Hayes) Sowers.
Dale completed his education in the U-46 School District and later worked as a driver for Expedited Freight Company.
Loved ones will remember Dale as a fun-loving, warm-hearted soul. He loved his family, especially his sisters and nieces.
Dale enjoyed making beautiful ceramic vases with pictures, singing karaoke, and playing with his great-nieces and nephews.
Dale had a big heart and was always willing to help others.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Sowers Sr. and Pearline (Hayes) Sowers; his brother, Harland Sowers; nephew Edward Mitchell; and niece Rowena Mitchell.
Dale is survived by his son, Antonio Palmer; brothers and sisters, Jesse Sowers, Jr., Richard Sowers, Leslie Sowers, Andrean Mitchell, Bennie Sowers, Ora Hughes, Evaughn Thornton, Deborah Harris and Lawanda Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday June 20, 2020 from 10:00-11:30a.m. at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin IL 60120. Capacity limits due to Covid-19 are in effect, and no more than 10 people may be present at a time in the funeral chapel.
Funeral Services will be private at 12:00p.m. with Pastor Leon Thornton officiating.
Interment will be private at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd, Elgin IL 60120.
