Bonnie Gage, age 87, of Elgin, Illinois, passed away on December 13, 2015 in Elgin. She was born on May 24,1928 in Anna, Illinois to the loving parents of Frank and Bessie Benson.

Bonnie grew up in Dongola, Illinois, and lived there until her early 20’s. She moved to Elgin and worked as a bookkeeper. She met her husband of 47 years, Lloyd, in Elgin, and the two were married in 1955. Bonnie was a stay at home mom as they raised their daughters in the South Elgin/Elgin area. In the early 1970s, Bonnie took a position at Sears Roebuck’s in Elgin as a Credit Analyst. She retired from Sears after more than 25 years of service. Bonnie was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family. An avid Cardinals fan, she often traveled to St. Louis with Lloyd to watch the team. They also enjoyed visiting Nashville, Tennessee and restoring an old jukebox together. Friends and family will always remember Bonnie’s love of gardening, especially roses. She always planted a beautiful rose garden wherever she lived.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Gage; and her great-grandson, Gage Anderson Krull.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula (George Wolwark) Cohrs of Muskego, Wisconsin, and Cathy (Karl) Krull of Elgin, Illinois; grandchildren Matthew Cohrs of Aurora, Colorado, Amy (David) Cook of Carpentersville, Illinois, Tim Cohrs of Carpentersville, Illinois, Dan (Erika) Krull of Sycamore, Illinois, Steve Krull of Elgin, Illinois; and great-grandchildren Ethan and Ava Cohrs, Madelyn, Meredith, and Makenna Cook, Landon and Hudson Krull.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St, Elgin, Illinois. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m., with funeral services at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Clifford “Hannibal” Frederick. Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 1945 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin, Illinois.
