Aurelia Eunice Hagen, age 93, life-long resident of Elgin, passed away on March 5, 2017 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.  Born October 1, 1923 in Mt. Prospect, IL, to her loving parents, John and Anna Pohlmann.

Aurelia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great-grandmother.  She married the love of her life, Harold, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elgin, where she enjoyed serving and worshiping with church members through her lifetime.  Aurelia had a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren and loved family gatherings. She had a smile that would brighten everyone’s day when she walked into a room. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and watching the different Chicago teams play.

Aurelia is survived by her daughter Linda Whitney; grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Spencer, Rita Gray, Susan (James) Demery, Kristi Hagen, Heidi (Anthony) Van Pelt, and Amanda (Shawn) Guinn; great-grandchildren Joshua Whitney, Harley Demery, Jordan Demery, Samantha Gray, Mikayla Hagen, Kyleigh Ancheta, Faith Ancheta, and Ava Guinn; and great-great-grandchildren Mariah  and Grayson Taylor, Daughter-in-law, Doreen Hagen.

Aurelia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and her son, Thomas Hagen.
