Anthony Pedote, age 46, of Elgin, IL, passed away at University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, IL, on April 2, 2017. Anthony was born August 13, 1970 to Linda “Sigi” (nee Scheel) Psimenos and adopted by Frank Pedote.

Above all, Anthony was well-known for his dedication to his community and hard work as a passionate volunteer and fundraiser for local causes, which earned him an Elgin Image Award in 2013. He spearheaded the Elgin Community Carnival twice a year, which helped fundraise for nonprofit organizations and served as a prize for the Gail Borden Library’s Summer Reading Program.

He achieved his dream of playing college football. Whenever he saw disadvantaged people who were struggling, he worked hard to help them.
During the last 17 months of Anthony’s life, as he faced paralysis in his hospital bed, his positive spirit never diminished. In the process, he inspired his friends, family, and hospital staff with his can-do spirit, always treating others with grace and love. He will be missed dearly by many family and friends.
