Anna May Allen, age 88, passed away peacefully at the home of her granddaughter, Katherine Gingrass, in Bartlett, IL, surrounded by family on October 17, 2020. May was born July 18, 1932 in DeKalb, IL to her loving parents, Roy Larsen and Louise Wernette.

May graduated from DeKalb High School, Class of 1950. She married Eugene Allen on January 12, 1951, and enjoyed 56 years together until his passing November 30, 2007.

May started as a data processor with Ideal Industries in 1969, and she worked there until her retirement in 1994.

May enjoyed traveling with her family on vacations and camping trips. She and her husband also saved their money in their first 25 years of marriage for a wonderful anniversary trip to Hawaii.

May liked knitting, crochet, needlepoint, and music. She enjoyed playing her organ and also line dancing.

Loved ones will remember May as a very loving, caring person. Her biggest and brightest smiles appeared when family came to visit. She was especially fond of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

May was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Allen; brother, Donald Larsen; sister, Marjorie, and brother-in-law, Harold Rhodes; and sons-in-law, Thomas Harvey and Leo Vander Kamp.

May is survived by her children, Suzan Harvey, Dorothy Vander Kamp, and Thomas (Cindy) Allen; brother, Perry (Edythe) Larsen; grandchildren, Scott (Carolyn) Harvey, Michael (Tracy) Harvey, Kevin (Jennifer) Harvey, Nicholas Harvey, Kristine (Jeffrey) Wallace, Katherine (Nick) Gingrass, Tiffany (Tom Trierweiler) Inboden; great grandchildren, Kayla, Evan, Stephen, Carson, Addison, Jackson, Elinor, Colin, Abbygail, Alex, Justin, Madison, Eliot, Blake, Lukas, and Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, DeKalb, IL.
