Agustin Gutierrez, age 79, of Elgin, IL, passed away on October 4, 2021. He was born August 28, 1942 in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico to his loving parents, Ciprano Gutierrez and Maria Trinidad Picasso.

Agustin was a devoted husband and father, and he took his responsibility to them seriously. He was a hardworking crane operator and he loved construction. He was always planning the next remodeling job around the house. Sometimes he even took something apart just so he could have fun putting it back together again.

Agustin had a wonderful sense of humor. When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with his family, and occasionally he would go fishing.

Agustin was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Gutierrez; children, Alicia, Javier, Manuel, Cipriano, Daniel, Francisco, and Regina; siblings, Luis, Alfredo, Roberto, Bertha, Guadalupe, and Cipriano; countless grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with funeral service at 7:00pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Pastor Susana Manso will be officiating

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.

A second visitation will be held from 9:30am until funeral service at 10:30am, Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120.
